PC Navigator by MapFactor is a Windows utility that might prove to be of good use while traveling or planning vacation routes.

You can also work with this program to locate your vehicle, find out which is the cheapest route to a certain destination, find nearby restaurants or gas stations, and so much more.

Similar to GPS navigation gadgets, this application provides you with voice guidance. You will also get access to detailed information regarding nearby points of interest, such as banks, museums, shopping centers, hotels, and many others.

An important advantage is that the utility gives you access to quality TomTom maps which are up-to-date and feature plenty of useful details. What's more, the integrated search tool will immediately help you find your departure, waypoint, and destination on the map.

Other useful features include route simulation, day and night view modes, audible warnings for speed cameras, smartphone vehicle tracking, etc.

The only thing that bothers me is that the program doesn't offer you support windowed mode, a feature which could come in handy if you want to work with multiple apps at the same time. Still, you can hit the Alt+Tab keys and get immediate access to your other running programs.

All in all, PC Navigator proves to be a reliable solution for people who travel a lot or are simply looking for an affordable alternative to using GPS navigation gadgets. The application is packed with a wide variety of useful features, works perfectly, and requires minimum computer experience.

For me the PC Navigator version and the Windows CE version are the best on the market. You don't need an expensive smart-phone to get updates and you don't get caught out by extra charges and fancy marketing gimmicks and you don't need unreliable blue-tooth connections. It's good solid design which just works. It's navigation software which navigates well.I have used the Navigator software for several years both in the UK and in Europe and it has never let me down.Take the trouble to set the parameters to suit your vehicle and your driving style and you can get your accurate time of arrival as you set off and you can set the parameters to prevent you ever getting caught for speeding.I keep looking at the sat-nav market but I can never find a better one.Customer Mark Drake.
